Your Old T-Shirt Is A Breezy Summer Scarf

Most of us have shirts we don't wear. We all have been a part of things like soccer leagues, company picnics, grandma's house, and/or mindless shopping at some point in time, leaving us with a not-so-wanted t-shirt to take home. Of course these shirts could always be donated to the local thrift store, but why not reuse them? With just a few snips, that shirt you don't want could be your new summer-ready breeze-loving scarf.

How to make a summer scarf from an old t-shirt:

1. Cut a panel of fabric out from your shirt.

2. Cut that panel nearly in half.

When you get close to cutting it totally in half, round the corner so that your scarf is naturally a U-shape (unlike other scarves, which are normally an I-shape).

3. Decorate the scarf however you wish.

I used a heat press to transfer an image of eagles I made at the bottom of my scarf.

Enjoy! This project is a great way to reuse and stay in style the green way.
