If you lose an earring, make a necklace out of the spare.

Earrings come in pairs and like most things that come in pairs, they get separated eventually. Like disappearing socks in the dryer, earrings have a way of...parting ways. I should know...I could decorate a Christmas tree with the amount of earrings I have. When you lose one of your earrings, worry not! That spare earring can easily make a cool new necklace.

How to make a necklace out of your spare earring:

1. Locate your spare.

2. Decorate your spare.

Use jewelry pliers to pull the earring back off of the earring and then decorate it. I used leftover paint, a marker, sequin, and mirrors to decorate my spare. These were all items I already had in my home. When you decorate your spare, try to limit yourself to what you've already got around the house.

3. String a chain or whatever kind of necklace threading you prefer through the hole that once held the earring back.

Connect in the back and enjoy!

This project is a great way to save something from going into the landfill and make a fashion-forward statement simultaneously.
