The skin around the feet can be tough and calloused. The more you're on your feet each day, the more attention you have to pay to your skin to keep it manageable. I know this because I live in New York City. There are tons of products out there lining the shelves of stores boasting the power to smooth over your calloused feet. There are scrubs and special scraping rocks and everything in between.

The key to keeping smooth skin on your feet, however, doesn't have to lie in a store bought product. When you avoid these store bought products, you cease to support an industry that relies on gross amounts of unnecessary packaging, chemicals and carbon.

So, how about this:

Make an Eco-Friendly Foot Soak

This recipe for a foot soak below will work wonders on your feet if you do it before bed and all you need is some salt and peppermint oil.

1. Boil 4 cups of water.

2. Add in 1/4 cup of salt when the water comes to a boil.

3. Let the water cool to a temperature you like and add in a teaspoon of >peppermint oil (or any other mint of your choosing).

Soak your feet as long as you like, then rinse. Enjoy!
