This DIY t-shirt transforms your ratty old shirt into something elegant.

The first time I made this DIY t-shirt, I was striving for a way to make a t-shirt from one of my favorite bands look classy. That's not always easy when the band's name is "Kill Kill Orchestra", but I managed to pull it off with this simple scissor treatment. Turning any kind of t-shirt you have, even with questionable band names, into something with a bit more elegance is easy with this project.

How to make an elegant shoulders exposed shirt from a t-shirt:

Find a Well-Fitting Shirt

Locate your shirt. Make sure it is a shirt that fits you well—a loose shirt will not work for this project.

Cut Slits in Sides

Cut a slit above the arm hole on each side of the shirt.

Cut V-Shaped Neckline

Once your slits are cut, angle your scissors diagonally and cut out the v-shape for the neckline.

Tie Extra Fabric Use some of the extra fabric to tie the upper back section of the shirt tighter to ensure that the design keeps its shape. Enjoy! I love this design and with the right strapless bra, you can expose your shoulders without having to expose the rest of you.
