If you're wanting a reusable bag that isn't oversized, try making this one.
I love reusable bags. I have many of them. I think it's important that we all use them and put an end to plastic bags once and for all. But one complaint I would usher in about most store-bought reusable bags is that they are, for the most part, pretty big. They seem a little unnecessarily large if you're just running out for a few items. A stroll through the farmer's market might only fill your bag with a few pieces of fruit—now that's the kind of shopping endeavor that's begging for a small (but reusable) bag. Well, like they say...if you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself.
So do it yourself. It's easy.
How to make a reusable shopping bag from a tank top:
Find a Tank Top
Locate your tank top. I had a yellow one that had gotten stained up over the years and it worked perfectly for this project.
Cut Tank Top
Cut a square neck through both the front and back layers of the shirt.
Tie Shirt Bottom
Tie the bottom of the shirt in a tight knot. Enjoy! My bag fit a half dozen eggs, all-natural fruit jelly, a bag of carrots, and a carton of mushrooms.
