Ann
In a What Not to Wear first we turned the tables on a mother who nominated her own daughter! When Ann went to school the preppy look was fashionable. The problem is that was over thirty years ago - and this Orlando music journalist never grew out of it. Ann knows what's hot in the world of music, but when it comes to her wardrobe, she thinks a string of pearls and a polo shirt with her pleated shorts make her look sophisticated. Her friends and children think she looks old fashioned. Stacy and Clinton have to get Ann to give up her pearls and her matronly look and update her style, but it's hard for Ann to let go of a look she's had most of her life. And when it comes to her hair, she's hasn't changed her style since kindergarten - until she comes face to face with stylist Nick Arrojo. Makeup artist Carmindy also has to battle with Ann to get her to update her look.

Ann's Rules and Mannequins
Ann's Rules
After reviewing Ann's secretly recorded video and current wardrobe, fashion experts Stacy and Clint set up these general rules to follow:
Daywear - In general, go for modern shapes that fit well. Twin set gives a layered look which helps camouflage tummy. Knee length A-line skirt in structured fabric achieves a balanced silhouette and is more upscale than shorts. An elegant bag to hold work equipment is more sophisticated and clothes won't get pulled into bad shapes. No more chunka-blunka shoes. A heel defines the calves and is more feminized.
Work - Be adventurous with fabrics. Choose silks and satins over cotton. Be confident with color, particularly by the face. Jewel colors add warmth to older skins. Wide-leg trousers that fit on the widest part of the hip, create a smooth, elegant line down the body and are flattering to most body types. Pointed boots help elongate the leg further. Use signature, chunky jewelry to make a bold, confident statement.
Evening - A sleeveless dress with sculptured neckline highlights some of Ann's best features. Faux wrap detailing around the ribcage redirects the eye upwards, away from the tummy.
