Christine
Christine succeeded in losing 80 pounds, but her style sense has never caught up. Baggy sweatpants and T-shirts still hide her hard-won figure. Her friends confess to WNTW host Jillian Hamilton: Christine's a self-described hippie who thinks fashion is a hobby in which she has no interest. Will fashion stylists Wayne Scot Lukas and Stacy London be able to persuade her otherwise? First they have to destroy all her hippie "threads." Meanwhile, hairstylist Nick Arrojo threatens to cut the locks of someone who hasn't been to a hairdresser in five years, while makeup artist Carmindy Bowyer tries to teach her techniques. Will they survive the challenge?
Christine's Rules and Shopping Details
Christine's Rules:
- Wayne and Stacy showed Christine a wonderful peasant-style blouse. It was in keeping with Christine's hippy aesthetic but in a more delicate fabric than she would normally choose - slightly wide (but not super wide) - it skims and flatters the body.
- They also advised her to look for day boots with a more pointy toe and a chunky heel. But nothing too high or narrow that would make her feel uncomfortable.
- Christine was advised to look for a light-weight, sweater coat.
- Wayne and Stacy's answer to Christine's hippy skirts was a beautiful, more fitted long skirt in rich red tones; teamed with a short jacket, it looked like a million dollars.
- Christine was also shown a great A-line suede skirt that skimmed the knee and would look terrific with boots.
- "Keep away from black!" the stylists advised. "Rich chocolate would be wonderfully flattering."
- Stretch velvet pants were teemed with a gorgeous, dark purple turtle-neck sweater.
- Finally, Christine was advised to look for dresses with an empire waist and a deep V-neckline. The Empire waist is the seam that goes right beneath the breast. It raises the waist line and is very flattering for women who might have concerns about their midriff.

Christine's Hair and Makeup
Makeup by Carmindy
- Apply a tinted moisturizer with a sunscreen to the face with fingertips. Try Laura Mercier's tinted moisurizer, available at Saks and Henry Bendels.
- Apply a liquid highlighter on top of cheekbones and under eyebrows to highlight the planes of the face and give a youthful dewy effect. Try Benefit's "Highbeam," available at Sephora.
- Apply a lip and cheek tint to lips and cheeks with your fingertips. Blend in a circular motion on the apple of the cheek and dab on the lips giving them a natural flush effect. Try Lorac's "Quick Fix" compact, available at Sephora.
- Apply a healthy dose of mascara onto top lashes only. Try Physicians Formula mascara available at drugstores everywhere.
And she's gorgeous!
