Bubbly Kim, 33, is one of Chicago's most eligible bachelorettes, but when it comes to her dress sense, Kim's friends think she's selling herself short. Her big sweaters with bold horizontal stripes make her look far larger than she is, and her choice of clothes for a night out does not give potential suitors the right impression.

Kim is shocked her friends don't think she's getting it right, and isn't sure Stacy London and Clinton Kelly can do better. They have to persuade Kim to try clothes that give her a different silhouette, so that her whole appearance is as attractive as her personality. As for her hair, stylist Nick Arrojo wants to give Kim a cut that will allow her natural curls to show, even though Kim has spent years trying to avoid being curly.

Mannequin #1 (Casual Work/Weekend):

Rules:

• Look for vertical instead of horizontal stripes to elongate the body and make it appear thinner.
• Find a 3/4 length trench that fits close to the body and comes into the torso and has seems that lengthen the body and create long lines.
• Cotton canvas is great for Spring/Summer.
• With pants (and jeans in particular) always look for straight legged or boot cut which creates a longer line, not tapered which puts emphasis on wider hips. A darker washed jean is more professional and can be both dressed up and dressed down.
• Boots: look for a long point and little kitten heel to elongate the leg and lighten the body. For spring and summer go for a lighter color.
• A wide leather bag makes a rich accent and works well for carrying materials to show to clients (more professional looking).
• Look for colors that are more saturated and pop out rather than earth tones.
• Try to add one nice accessory to the outfit, like a necklace, earrings or a bangle.
• Look for blazers and coats that fit closer to the body but still allow room to move. Fabrics with a little stretch in them allow this.
• Pair layering with a light sweater in fabrics like merino or cashmere and a deep V-neck that opens up the body.

Mannequin #2 (Work/Night Out with Friends):

Rules:

• Look for a fitted blazer (like this denim one) with darting at the sides and seeming at the waist which will accentuate the waist and make the outfit look pulled together and give the figure proportion. This look works for both work and casual.
• Get blazers with only one button, which gives a cleaner line.
• A small necklace gives personality to the outfit.
• Look for geometric patterns in shirts instead of just stripes or florals.
• A little kitten heel shoe can work with lots of outfits and gives a lighter look to the body.
• You don't need to match your shoe to your bag - here there is a navy suede sling back with an orange leather bag.
• Don't be afraid to mix and match pieces.
• Look for pieces that are classic - classic silhouettes will allow you to keep pieces for a while and also you can mix and match with other pieces in your wardrobe, so they are worth the investment.

Rules:

• Coral is a very complementary color for almost every skin tone.
• The deep V opens up the neck and elongates the body. If you have a medium sized chest, you can do a deeper V.
• Having a wider strap instead of a tank is more flattering if you have big shoulders or a larger frame.
• Look for shirts that have seeming under the chest. This lifts and separates the chest area (also called an empire waist). The empire waist allows the fabric to fit by the ribs and pulls away from the body around the belly and is very flattering.
• Opt for an evening look that is around knee length. Longer than that looks like you are going to the Opera.
• It is good to have a different color on the top and bottom that breaks up the body with color and accentuates different areas.

Hair Process:

1. Cut: First Kim's hair was cut dry with scissors to remove the length and bulk. After her hair was washed, her shape was refined to a shorter, layered cut working with her natural texture.

2. Color: Kim's hair has recently been highlighted so it was toned using Wella Colortouch 10/7 Caffe Latte to add sheen and a little more warmth. Her hair was shampooed using KMS Curl Up Shampoo and KMS Curl Up Hair Prepare.

3. Finish: Kim's hair was styled using equal parts KMS Curl Up curling balm to create lush curls and KMS Sculpting Lotion to give hold and definition. For a curly look, it can either dry naturally, or can be diffused.

6. Apply Body and Soul eyeshadow in "Scandal" across lid and up into crease.

7. Apply Body and Soul eyeshadow in "Volcano" as an eyeliner along upper lashline and under lower lashes.

8. Apply Black Mascara on top and bottom lashes.

9. Apply MAC lipgloss in "Lust."
