Larry

Larry is a tall, dark and handsome bachelor living in Manhattan. As the successful owner of an upscale health spa and the author of a book on massage, Larry seems to have everything going for him - apart from his fashion sense, that is! Even those nearest and dearest to him can't take his 80s look and his obsession with buying in bulk (black T-shirts in packs of 10) any longer. And when it comes to color ... well, there isn't any! Larry's love affair with black is making his closest buddies depressed to be around him. Fashion stylists Wayne Scot Lukas and Stacy London must wean this creature of habit away from his pleated pants and plaid vests and transform him into model material with the help of hair stylist Nick Arrojo and makeup artist Carmindy Bowyer. Attention all you skeptical single women!

Larry's Rules and Shopping Details

Larry's Rules:

  • Wayne and Stacy showed Larry a great new jean: He should look for something not too tight at the waist and definitely not narrowing at the bottom. The jeans were teamed with a roll-neck sweater; this will hang cleanly against the body (Larry was prone to wear thin sweaters with ribbed waistband, and these should definitely be avoided.)
  • For casual wear, the stylists showed Larry a soft, blouson zip-up jacket in cafe au lait and gray, teamed with a pair of soft gray pants.
  • Avoid black!

Larry's Hair and Grooming

Grooming by Carmindy

Grooming Products:

  • sugar
  • Christian Dior facial self tanner
  • moisturizer
  • Tweezerman line of grooming products
  • Happy Hempsters lip balm

Grooming Process:

1. In the shower when you're washing your face, take a small handful of sugar and scrub your face with it. This is a quick and easy way to exfoliate your skin, and great for men who don't want to buy beauty products. Sugar works well because the particles dissipate in water, so they scrub away dead skin cells without tearing at the skin. Your skin will end up fresh and soft. Available in kitchens everywhere!

2. After the shower, apply a facial self tanner all over the face, spreading a little into the hairline and down the neck. Immediately wash your hands. Take a paper towel and lightly buff the neck so no streaks occur. This gives you a glowing tan in about 2-3 hours and lasts for about a week. On the days after using this product, when you get out of the shower, just use a moisturizer all over the face.

3. With a small moustache comb or toothbrush, brush eyebrow hairs upward and trim long ones with a pair of nail scissors or small haircutting scissors. If there are a lot of hairs between the brows, pluck them with tweezers. Try the Tweezerman line of grooming products available at Bed Bath and Beyond and Ricky's in New York.

4. Apply a lip balm that is not too shiny but incredibly moisturizing.
